Filming Day 4 - Edmonton Green

Today was the fourth day of the group and I filming. In today's shoot, we were filming the first scene of our storyboard which is the car scene. We had shot a bird's eye view of the car driving and scenes inside of the car. We did not check the weather this day which was a problem as it was raining. However, we had managed to film successfully. Overall, it was a productive shoot and will be filming more scenes soon.

Filming Day 3 - TV Studio and Photography Studio

Today we filmed the studio scene of our music video. We had used the photography studio and the TV studio.  Because the photography studio had a black backdrop we could not film the idea of the silhouette. As other students booked the photography studio we had to move our shoot to the TV studio in which we would use the black walls to make it the same as the shoot of the black backdrop from before. In the TV studio we noticed that there was a projector and laptop, we later on came up with the idea to add an effect similar to the silhouette with a moving background in which we had found online on Youtube, this would compliment the outfit especially the jacket I was wearing in the shoot.  This effect would then replace the silhouette effect and make our video intersting and creative. We had used our storyboards in the process of filming to help and guide us. In conclusion, I would say that this shoot was very productive, minor the problems we had, we had came up with a better solution for the filming of our video. We shall be continuing to film again soon.

Editing Day 1

In today's lesson, my group and I began to place all the cottage from yesterday and Saturday to Final Cut Pro and positioned it to the correct parts of the song. We has also named each footage to where it was filmed for instance, Oxford Circus, Jubilee Bridge and Olympic Park.

Filming Day 2 - Olympic Park (replacement Location for Hyde Park)

Today was our second day of filming. We decided to film the Hyde Park scene and a few other scenes.  Instead,we had decided on not to use Hyde Park as it is far and time is limited. So instead, we decided to use Olympic Park which is  local and has many good looking scenery which is what we wanted. Before making our way to Olympic Park, me and my group went to a firework shop to buy sparklers to use for the Olympic Park scene (last scene) and then we travelled to our location. Before leaving for our location, we checked the weather to see whether it would rain, we were pleased to see that it wouldn't be and this was the case. We firstly shot lip synching parts of our storyboard in which we had needed to film to add onto our video just incase some scenes were not added. We had some difficulty in lighting the sparklers as we did not have any experience with the product, however we managed to finally light the sparkler in order the film the scenes in quick condition as they would last for a couple of seconds. Overall, the shoot was very productive and organised from buying the product and finding a closer location.

Filming Day One - Oxford Street, Jubilee Bridge and Chance Rooftop

Today, my group and I started the process of filming our music video. We used two locations today from our storyboard which was Oxford Street, Jubilee Bridge and one chance rooftop. With the time that we had today we managed to complete all the features of these scenes and are no ready to film the other scenes of our music video from the car, studio and mile end.

Equipment Booking Form

DSLR Induction

In today's lesson, we had a lesson from a technician on the DSLR camera, we were well informed on the settings and format of the camera. From, zooming in and out, focusing the camera, brightness etc. This is good for the group and I to know before filming our music video so that we are well prepared and comfortable using the camera.

Inspiration For the Music Video

FourFiveSeconds - Rihanna, Kanye West, Paul Mccartney

For the music video, my group and I were inspired by these three music video. We were inspired by their camera angles, scenery, genre and style. The video has really helped us see what we could add and develop when filming our video and also it has made us see what level our filming and editing skills will need to be in order for our videos to be a success.

The video is by Rihanna, Kanye West and Paul Mccartney ' FourFiveSecond'. This song was released in 2015. The genre is Pop and soul Pop. The whole video is shot in black and white, I think it shows more of the simplistic side of the song, I think that if it was in colour it would not be powerful as it is now.

In the video the it uses the effect of shadowing which is something that we intended on using in our video (silhouette). This scene is shown below. This scene is in the beginning of the song when she says, " I think I've had enough, might get a little drunk".

This is a medium close up, they used this scene for at least 20 seconds at the beginning of the video. They use the same effect a lot in the video, they tend to change the camera angles of this effect, this beside is the same effect in a different part of the song in which it is the chorus. When she says, " And we got three more days till friday".

My group and I were inspired by this due to the similar effect of the silhouette and also the change in camera angles and shots for when we will start editing.

Inspiration for Music Video

On the Low Remix - Angel Feat. Jeremih,Eric Bellinger,Wretch 32 & Dappy

This video was released on the 11th June, 2015.  This video is of the remix which includes Jeremih, Dappy and Eric Bellinger. Originally the song only featured Wretch 32. Both tracks are featured in Angels new album, Possession With Intent, which was released last November 2014.

My group and I were inspired by the first scene of the video, the girl inside the car. For the first scene of our music video, we decided to use a car as in the lyrics of our song 'Jealous Type' it firstly says, "nights like this I be cruisin". The scene from the video is shot at night which we plan on filming as well.

Development List for Blogger

This is a list I had made for me to add onto my blogger. It is of the things I had needed to develop on and add onto to my blogger. By doing this, I can see what I need to do to ensure that my blogger is up to date and also that I am constantly blogging.

Pre-Production Tasks Complete

In today's lesson, my group and I completed our pre- production tasks. I think that this has helped us be well organised before filming from organising costumes, locations and actors etc. It has also give an eye opener of the before process of filming a music video. My group and I are now at the time to start filming our music video.
